Fast Fades, our first in-house competition, is open for entries from today until midnight on 31 December 2026 (UTC-12).
It's a pop-up, not a year-long fade race. You don't start from a fresh raw pair: you enter jeans or jackets you have already worn for at least a year. A year is the minimum, not the target – two, three, five years deep is exactly what we want to see.
What you can win
First place: $500 Denimio voucher
Second place: £245 Hiut Denim voucher
Third place: Superunknown veg tan belt
Who and what can enter
Open worldwide and free, up to three entries per person
Raw denim jeans and denim jackets only, with at least 12 months of your own wear
Fades from natural wear only: no sanding, bleach, factory distressing or similar. Repairs are welcome.
How to enter
On the home feed tap COMPETITIONS, choose FAST FADES and tap ENTER.
Pick the item from your wardrobe, or add it, with at least 5 photos: front, back and the fade details you're proudest of.
Add a verification photo: the item laid out with #FASTFADESCOMP handwritten on a piece of paper or card.
Tick the boxes under "Before you enter" and tap ENTER COMPETITION. Your entry is posted to the feed.
The judges look at depth of fade, honesty of wear, contrast and character, and the story and wear history behind each piece, so fill in your journey notes and your wear log. You can keep updating your item until 31 December.
