Introducing Outfits

Features & Functionality

Save the items you wear together as outfits, with photos, and share them to the feed as #ootd posts. Free for everyone, live now.

Your jeans never go out alone. They go out with a jacket, a shirt, a pair of boots and a belt, and the way it all comes together is half the fun of the hobby. Starting today, DENIMHEAD lets you save those combinations as Outfits and share them to the feed as an #ootd post.

This one came straight from the community. A big thank you to @mylordchanel, who pointed out that an outfit is usually decked out in several brands and several types of item, and that a post should be able to show all of them rather than just one. He also asked for an #OOTD option for posting pictures. Outfits does both.

What is an outfit?

An outfit is a set of items from your wardrobe that you wear together, with photos of you wearing them. It lives in your wardrobe beside your items, under the new OUTFITS pill. Each outfit has:

  • Its items: two or more pieces from your wardrobe, in the order you choose.

  • Photos: up to 10 photos of the outfit. The newest photo always goes to the front.

  • A name and notes, both optional. "Saturday fit" or "first cold morning of the year", whatever helps you remember it.

Outfits are not tracked, so there are no wear counts or wash logs to keep up. Keep tracking wears and washes on each item.

Create an outfit

  1. Open your Wardrobe and tap the OUTFITS pill, or tap + on the feed and choose Add an outfit.

  2. Choose at least two items from your wardrobe.

  3. Add at least one photo. Take a new one, pick one from your gallery, or tap Add photos from your items to reuse photos and fit pics you have already added to those items.

  4. Give it a name and notes if you like, then tap ADD OUTFIT.

Tap an outfit to open its page. You will see its photos as thumbnails (tap one to see them full size), every item in it, and your notes. Tap any item to open it. If you sell an item, it stays in your outfit marked as sold.

Post your outfit to the feed

The quickest way: tap + on the feed and choose Create an outfit / #ootd post. You will see the steps and two buttons: CREATE OUTFIT to start a new one, or EDIT OUTFIT to open your outfits and pick one.

  • New outfit: Auto-post to feed is on by default. Write a caption, choose which photos go in the post, and tap ADD OUTFIT. Your outfit is saved and posted in one step, and you are taken straight to the feed to see it.

  • Outfit you already have: add new photos when you edit it and Post to feed turns on for you, with the new photos already chosen for the post. Or open the outfit and tap SHARE TO FEED at any time.

You decide which photos go in each post. You can also add your items' own photos and fit pics to the post. They appear in the post only and are never added to the outfit itself. If you leave the caption blank, we will ask whether you want to add one before posting.

How outfit posts look

Every outfit post is tagged #ootd. The items you are wearing are listed at the top of the card, so your caption stays yours. If an outfit has more than three items, tap + more to see them all. Tap the items or VIEW OUTFIT to open the full outfit.

Find inspiration

Want to see what everyone else is wearing? Go to Search and open the Outfits tab for every outfit posted by the community. And every item page now lists the outfits it is part of under In outfits.

Open your wardrobe, tap OUTFITS, and put your first one together. We cannot wait to see your fits.

Wear them well,
