The Marketplace is here: buy and sell with fellow denimheads

Features & Functionality

You can now sell your items directly to other DENIMHEAD users - and when you do, the item's entire wear and wash history moves with it. Plus: mark any item as sold or retired to keep your wardrobe honest.

Every pair of jeans in this community has a story - the wears, the washes, the slow-earned fades. Until now, that story ended when you sold the jeans. Not anymore.

Today we are launching the DENIMHEAD Marketplace: a new tab where you can buy and sell denim directly with fellow denimheads. And because this is DENIMHEAD, we built the part no other platform can offer - when an item sells, its full history goes with it.

This one started with you

This whole feature began as a suggestion from @beejpowers who asked for a way to mark a pair as sold/archived.

We built exactly that - and then kept going, all the way to a full marketplace where the fades change hands inside DENIMHEAD. That is how this app gets built: a denimhead asks, and we make it happen. Thanks Beej!.

Selling your denim

Open any item in your wardrobe and tap SELL THIS ITEM, or hit SELL in the new Marketplace tab. Set your price, condition and a description, and your listing is live. Buyers can see everything that makes your item worth owning: the photos, the wear count, the wash log, the whole journey.

Once listed, your item wears a FOR SALE badge wherever it appears - on your posts in the feed, in search results, and on your profile - and tapping the badge takes buyers straight to your listing. Your fade posts become your shop window.

Buying

The Marketplace opens showing items in your country and your size (we take your size from your wardrobe, or set it yourself under Preferences). Filter by item type (pick as many as you like), waist, inseam, top size or chest measurement, or go worldwide - and once you have your filters set up how you like them, save them as your default. Found something? Tap MESSAGE SELLER and arrange the sale in a direct message. Your conversations are always one tap away via the chat icon at the top of the home feed.

DENIMHEAD does not handle payments or shipping - you and the seller agree those between yourselves. Our advice: use a payment method with buyer and seller protection, and use tracked shipping.

You will also see clearly labelled AFFILIATE listings from partner platforms alongside community listings - flip on "DENIMHEAD users only" in the filters to hide them.

The handover: a fade journey continues

This is the part we are most proud of. When a sale is agreed, the seller marks the listing as sold to the buyer, confirming the final price - haggling is part of the culture, so it defaults to your listing price but you can change it. Once the buyer accepts, the item moves into their wardrobe complete with its photos, every logged wear and every wash. The new owner picks up the fade journey exactly where you left off - and one day they can pass it on again, history intact.

And you (seller) don't lose the memory. Sold items stay in your wardrobe under a new SOLD / RETIRED tab, preserving the photos and stats from your time with them. Photos from your fit pics section stay with you too - they are preserved in your sold-item memory, never passed to the buyer (note that these must be in the fit pics section - everything else is transferred). Your years of fades stay yours to look back on.

Sold elsewhere? Retired a pair?

Not every sale happens here, and not every pair gets sold. You can now mark any item as sold or retired from its item page - whether it went on another platform, went to a friend, or has simply earned its rest. Add where it sold, the date and the price if you like. Archived items move to the SOLD / RETIRED tab, out of your active rotation but never gone - and you can unarchive them any time.

The details

  • Items with an active listing can't be deleted, so a buyer's future history is protected.

  • Transfers only complete when the buyer accepts - nothing lands in your wardrobe without your say-so.

  • Report and block tools work in Marketplace messages, same as everywhere else on DENIMHEAD.

This is phase one, and we would love your help shaping what comes next. Found something confusing? Sold your first pair? Have an idea like Beej did? Tell us via Contact in the menu.

Happy fading - and happy buying and selling!
