Japan Blue JMGJ1201 14oz Type II Selvedge Denim Jacket

Description
The Type II is the denim jacket reduced to its classic form: a button front, two chest pockets and a waistband, nothing added. Japan Blue keeps that outline intact and cuts it with ease through the sleeves and body – not oversized, just unforced – so the jacket sits on the shoulders the way it should and goes over a sweater without a fight.
Under the indigo, the cotton is brown. The warp of the 14oz selvedge denim is spun with natural brown cotton and then rope-dyed in pure indigo over that base, so the blue starts deep and nuanced and fades, as the indigo thins, toward a warm, tawny cast that white-cotton denim never reaches. The weft is extra-long staple Suvin cotton, supple and faintly lustrous, which gives a fabric this heavy a soft, light hand and airy movement – the reason the jacket wears comfortably from day one. The surface is left alone: the yarn’s slub and the fuzz deliberately kept on the face build a dimensional, layered look that deepens with wear and washing, and a jacket collects that wear in all the right places – collar, cuffs, elbows, pocket edges. Sanforized and one-washed. 100% cotton. Made in Japan.
Fit Notes: This jacket fits true to size. Compared to most global American brands, a size 42 fits similarly to a standard American Large. We recommend taking your usual size for the intended fit. The denim is sanforized and has been one-washed, so no further shrinkage is expected. As always, we strongly recommend checking our size chart and comparing it with your best-fitting jacket to find the perfect size.
