This 13. 75oz Kaihara 'Dry Selvage' denim is a cornerstone of Nudie Jeans’ heritage. First used in 2001, it helped define the brand after co-founder Maria discovered its exceptional quality and aging potential. It features a deep indigo warp, unbleached ecru weft, tight construction, and a dry, crisp hand.

The warp is dyed with sulfur and then indigo, creating a muted, rich blue with Nudie’s signature orange stitching. As it ages, the denim evolves beautifully: it starts as a greenish 'greencast' blue and gradually shifts toward a clearer 'redcast' blue with wear and washing – one of the reasons it has remained a core fabric since the beginning.
